Nikki Blonsky is loving Zac Efron? // 15 Sep 2008
Nikki Blonsky gave Entertainment Tonight her first interview since her arrest last month. (Nikki’s family had an all-out brawl with former America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden’s family at a Turks and Caicos airport.)

The 19-year-old actress says her friends and family have been there for her through it all, including her Hairspray castmates: “They have all been extremely supportive. We are a tight-knit family. We’re just happy to be back together. My family is my life. The best gift that I’ve even been given is my parents.”

Nikki says co-star Zac Efron has been a special source of strength for her, “I love him with every inch of my body and soul. He has been an amazing support system.”

Nikki is currently preparing her nightclub debut at Feinstein’s in New York City that will run from September 23rd to October 4th. Her special performance will feature songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook and pop classics.

Efron and Labeouf: Legends of the Fall?? // 14 Sep 2008
If all goes well for Hollywood, Shia LaBeouf and Zac Efron will be the new Reese Witherspoon.

The fall movie season begins today. Running through Halloween weekend, the next two months will boast plenty of stars, a good number of Oscar contenders, including Oliver Stone's W., but possibly few, if any, box-office blockbusters.

It's been six years, in fact, since any film released in September grossed more than $100 million, Exhibitor Relations reported this week. The last movie to do so was the Witherspoon comedy Sweet Home Alabama.

"If any film [this] September has a chance to break $100 million," says Exhibitor Relations' Jeff Bock, "it's Eagle Eye and Shia LaBeouf."

The thriller, which reteams LaBeouf with Disturbia director D.J. Caruso, opens Sept. 26. LaBeouf's last two films, Transformers and the new Indiana Jones, which, granted, really weren't "LeBeouf films," each grossed more than $300 million.

According to a recent online poll conducted by Fandango, the movie-ticket service, the most-anticipated fall movie is not Eagle Eye, but the Coen brothers' Burn After Reading, which opens Sept. 12. (E! Online and Fandango are both owned by Comcast.)

The comedy about a CIA agent's lost memoirs and the dolts who find it has splashy superstar names (George Clooney, Brad Pitt), and the added cachet of being the Coens' followup to their Oscar-winning No Country for Old Men.

Still, the Coens are hardly box-office kings. The team has never made a $100 million hit; outside of No Country for Old Men, not one of their movies has even made half that much.

If this month and next fail to produce a nine-figure hit, Hollywood will have gone since The Dark Knight, or mid-July, without a true blockbuster, as even late-summer hits such as Tropic Thunder and the latest Mummy failed to draw crowds commensurate of their hefty budgets.

"It is a dangerous time for movie exhibitors," Bock says. "You don't have name products that have people get excited until High School Musical."

Zac Efron to Star in "Dreamcoat" // 11 Sep 2008
Zac Efron is possibly looking to make his West End theater debut with the part of Joseph in the musical, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat according to the Mirror.

The 20-year-old High School Musical actor reportedly spoke with Andrew Lloyd Webber about the part. Lee Mead, who currently plays Joseph, will be leaving in January.

An inside source commented, “It is a marriage made in musical heaven. Zac loves the role and is keen to clock up some stage time in London. For Hollywood actors a spell in the West End offers credibility and can be extremely lucrative!”

MTV Music Awards // 07 Sep 2008
Zac Efron didn’t stop for many media outlets on the red carpet at the 2008 MTV VMA Awards but he stopped by to say hello to Just Jared! Wahoo!!!

As always, the 20-year-old High School Musical star was the sweetest guy ever. I don’t have time to transcribe the interview right now as I’m backstage trying to hunt down more people but he’s dressed in Louis Vuitton.

And here’s a little tidbit: Zac was forever grateful to me and ALL OF YOU for the fantastic support you’ve shown him on this little ol’ blog. So, thank you thank you thank you!!!

Me adn Orson Welles Premiere in Toronto! // 06 Sep 2008
He’s not just the hunky high school senior of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.” And Zac Efron is looking to prove it with his Toronto International Film Festival premiere of “Me and Orson Welles.”

The “Seventeen Again” stud was spotted arriving at the Ryerson Theatre in Toronto, Canada, along with his co-star Claire Danes earlier this evening (September 5).
And Zac gave the ladies plenty to swoon over, sporting a handsome brown suit complete with a white button-up shirt and skinny brown tie and a pair of wingtip shoes.

In “Me and Orson Welles,” Efron plays a teenager hired to star in an Orson Welles production of Julius Caesar, whereupon he falls for the ambitious production assistant.

Zac Efron Talks... // 04 Sep 2008
Teen heart-throb Zac Efron may be most teenage girls' dream date, but for this 20-year-old rising star, he still longs to be anonymous sometimes.

Posing on the cover of Teen Vogue's October issue, the "High School Musical" star reveals why it is important to feel normal amidst the fame that's surrounding him right now.

He says, "You don't realize until it's gone, but it is so important to feel normal."

"I'm growing up under a magnifying glass, and I just try to rise above it and live my life."

"I'm not going to complain. But it's something I'm learning to cope with."

And growing up in the industry also means maturing in his chosen craft. Efron, who plays as an adult who transforms into a teen version of himself in the 2009 film "17 Again" alongside Matthew Perry, says he is learning more about the art of acting.

He says, "It was hard to play someone that I couldn't relate to in the slightest. But the director taught me a lot about the art of acting, which I hadn't been schooled in before. I've got a better understanding of what it means to be an actor now."

Efron is Teen Vogue's cover star for its Young Hollywood Issue, out on newsstands on September 9.
